The St. Demetrius Church Childrens’ Choir “Dzyga” was formed in September 2016 to nurture our children appreciation for beautiful music and approach their singing with intelligence, creativity and musicianship. Our two ensembles – the Yong Singers (age 4-7) and Intermediate Choir (age 8-13) achieve a high standard of vocal and choral skills in alignment with each individual’s talents and commitment. Kids study and perform music from Ukraine and other parts of the world and are introduced to wonderful music of many genres.
From September to June, singers take part in vocal development, performance experiences, and lessons to learn the basics of controlling their voice as an instrument. . Choir performs Christmas and Spring concerts and participates in many church and community events.
